Join this session to delve deeper into Community Configuration, see which features will be the first ones to be community-configurable and actively participate in shaping its future alongside WMF teams, including Growth, Editing, and Moderator Tools.

The session will start by exploring the project's objectives and current status, followed by a showcase of how Automoderator or Edit check make use of Community Configuration. This session directly aligns with the event theme of "Collaboration in the Open" by showcasing a collaborative feature that is meant to help make wiki configuration settings more open and easily readable. The feature is also meant to make it easier for WMF teams to release features that allows communities to collaboratively decide on the configuration.

By shifting more decision-making authority from WMF teams to administrators, the project promotes openness and transparency in feature configuration. It empowers local communities to take control of customization, fostering a more inclusive and participatory environment within the Wikimedia ecosystem.

He cares about ensuring autonomy of the Wikimedia communities by giving them an option to change how MediaWiki works.
